Ets. Antoine Massoud & Domaine Des Tourelles Officially Launch Glenbey Whisky

Beirut, June 8, 2021: Glenbey whisky was officially launched at a press conference on Tuesday, June 8. Partnering with Glasgow-based Whyte & Mackay, Glenbey is the first premium Scotch whisky with a Lebanese spirit, bringing the inimitable taste of Scotland to shores of Lebanon.

Leading industry figures, entrepreneurs, syndicate members, industrialists, media representatives and whisky enthusiasts were among those who attended the press conference, which was held at the beautiful Arthaus venue in Beirut’s fashionable neighborhood of Gemmayze. A hybrid format, achieved through Zoom, allowed a greater number of people to be part of the event.

The story of Glenbey, how it is produced and other notable facts were shared with the audience, who showed great interest in the product. The speakers included: Mr. Antoine Massoud, CEO of Ets. Antoine Massoud; Mr. Faouzi Issa, winemaker and managing director of Domaine des Tourelles; Mr. Tony Ramy, president of the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafés, Night-Clubs & Pastries in Lebanon; and Mr. Georges Nasraoui, VP of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists.

In addition, an exclusive tasting session was held at the launch. Hosted by Mr. Salim Haleiwa, the workshop highlighted Glenbey’s tasting notes and pairing options.

A first-class Lebanese product to be proud of, Glenbey fills a gap in the market, providing premium Scotch whisky at an affordable price compared to other international brands in the same category. New varieties are set to be launched in the future and this is surely just the beginning.
