We are seeking a Brand Manager for our food, dry Food and Home and personal care channel to be handling the following;
Responsibilities:
- Achieves the business plans that are set by brand at the beginning of the year.
- Leads the budget process of the assigned categories/products.
- Achieves volume/market share/profitability targets by product
- Effectively leads meetings with major suppliers. Takes the first lead when negotiating with suppliers.
- Liaises with supplier on the brand positioning and ensures that all marketing plans are in line with the positioning of the product.
- Looks at inventory and effectively manages stocks that result in zero expired stock in the company’s warehouse.
- Sets Promotional Strategies. Submit them for direct supervisor’s approval.
- Maintains company gross profitability and volume based on set yearly targets.
- Obtains and assesses information on brand/product market share. Analyses retail audit information or scans information provided by major customers.
- Conducts markets visits (with sales people) to help understand the market dynamics.
- Prepares A&P yearly plan and promotional schedule of all assigned brands.
- Prepares A&P budget, to be submitted to the direct Manager.
- Meets with advertising agencies. Negotiates Terms with them, decides on the right campaign to achieve optimal products objectives.
- Suggests product pricing by using research data, reviewing cost of goods sold, anticipating volume, costing special and customized orders.
- Thoroughly Assesses category pricing of all major players.
- Anticipates market needs.
- Provides the right brand forecast in alignment with the direct Manager.
- Shares monthly calendar with the direct Manager before implementation.
- Provides the sales forecast to the supply chain unit for order activation. Follows up with supply chain unit on order status.
- Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines.
- Introduces and markets new product/SKU and develops measures to monitor their performance.
- Continuously works on efficient assortment exercises on the assigned brands.
- Able to submit ad hoc reports and analysis when need be.
- Measures post results of promotional activities.
- Prepares continuous business reviews for assigned brands.
- Fills out a scorecard on a monthly basis; Keeps a well-organized fact book.
- Works according to company rules and regulations.
- Maintains a confidential spirit at all times.
- Maintains a positive attitude at all times with colleagues and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. MA is an advantage
- Excel / Powerpoint savvy
- Detail oriented
- Well organized
- Creative and takes initiative
- Excellent Communication and reporting skills
- Problem solver
- Understands trade and consumer dynamics
- Analytical skills
- 3 years of experience in an FMCG field of business is a must.
